We welcome back Dr. Isabelle Zink, who spent two years at Wageningen University in the Netherlands with an FWF Schrödinger grant. Now, she has returned to our department to start her own research line. Isabelle is focusing on archaeal virus defense systems, such as Argonautes and CRISPR-Cas, by investigating their immune functions, potential roles beyond immunity, and possible applications.
