Launch of Green Labs Austria Website

02.07.2020

Green Labs Austria is an initiative which was born by students and postdocs of the Schleper, Bulgheresi and Rittmann group, at Archaea Biology and Ecogenomics Unit.

Green Labs Austria aims to connect Austrian and international laboratories that share the vision of more sustainable research.

The initiative's aim is to serve as a platform for communication and discussion of green research practices among labs and as a database of relevant initiatives, associations and resources, both national and international. It also serves as the communication platform of the "Verein zur Förderung Nachhaltiger Forschung", a non-profit association that students, technicians and post-docs of the Department of Functional and Evolutionary Ecology (FEE) founded to reform how scientists at the University of Vienna and beyond think about energy and plastic consumption, recycling and traveling.

Everyone is invited to contribute, by sharing their know-how and practical tips for sustainable lab organisation as well as opinions on all matters pertaining to the environmental impact of research.

Please share this initiative and the attached portfolio to your networks, visit greenlabsaustria.at, and get in touch at info@greenlabsaustria.at.
