Her doctoral research at the University of Oviedo was carried out under the supervision of Prof. Luis Valledor and Prof. Jesus Jorrin-Novo, whose guidance and expertise were key to the success of her work.
Following her PhD, Cristina was awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship, which enabled her to join the MOSYS group in Vienna, where she is currently investigating the biochemistry of plant–microbe interactions and the role of root exudates in sustainable agriculture.
